User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-GB; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090715 Firefox/3.5.1 GTB5 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729) Build Identifier: 3.0b3 When creating two Google mail IMAP accounts in succession using the "Account Wizard" I found the second account was a clone of the first and did not appear in the folders list - any changes made seemed to be reflected in both. Deleting this duplicate account also removed the original from the folders list but not in the account management window. I had to restart Thunderbird to get it to show again. Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce
If I have an existing Google account selected in the accounts window before running the New Wizard this seems to reproduce the issue.
comment #1 and #2 are WFM with Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.5; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090715 Thunderbird/3.0b3.

(In reply to comment #0) > When creating two Google mail IMAP accounts in succession using the "Account > Wizard" I found the second account was a clone of the first and did not appear > in the folders list - any changes made seemed to be reflected in both. Sounds phenomenon of Bug 303542. How did you create the Gmail IMAP accounts? (1) Account Wizard of Tb 2 (2) Ordinal Account Wizard of Tb 3 (same one as Tb 2) (3) Account Wizard for Gmail IMAP of Tb 3
(In reply to comment #3) > How did you create the Gmail IMAP accounts? > (1) Account Wizard of Tb 2 > (2) Ordinal Account Wizard of Tb 3 (same one as Tb 2) > (3) Account Wizard for Gmail IMAP of Tb 3 Account Wizard for Gmail IMAP of Tb 3, which I presume is the one reached by Tools > Account settings... > Add Account... in Tb3
(In reply to comment #4) > Account Wizard for Gmail IMAP of Tb 3 Did you change username setting after account definition? If you did next, Bug 303543 occurs with Account Wizard for Gmail IMAP of Tb 3 too. 1. Create account-1 : aaa @ gmail.com 2. Change username of account-1 : aaa => bbb 3. Create account-2 : aaa @ gmail.com => account-2 doesn't appear in folder pane 4. Restart Tb => Two accounts of same name are displayed at folder pane. Account Settings of two accounts is identical.
Bug 303542, instead of double-posted Bug 303543.
Are you sure tb2 was never involved here? Tb2 has/had(?) a bug so you can create duplicate gmail accounts with strange effects.
(In reply to comment #7) Magnus, Tb 3 still has problem of Bug 303542 although phenomenon is slightly different between Tb 2 and Tb 3. And, "ordinal Account Wizard for POP3/IMAP of Tb 2/Tb 3" or "Account Wizard for Gmail IMAP of Tb 3" is irrelevant to Bug 303542. My comment #5 is check result with latest Tb trunk(1.9.1).
(In reply to comment #5) > Did you change username setting after account definition? No (In reply to comment #7) > Are you sure tb2 was never involved here? Tb2 has/had(?) a bug so you can > create duplicate gmail accounts with strange effects. Tb2 was uninstalled while I used another mail app, but kept some account settings. However I wasn't editing existing accounts or changing usernames, just adding new (never set up before in Tb2/3) IMAP accounts.
(In reply to comment #9) > just adding new (never set up before in Tb2/3) IMAP accounts. Did you define account with servername=imap.gmail.com or change servername of an account to imap.gmail.com in the past? ("IMAP or not", "successful or not" is irrelevant) Are there multiple mail.server.serverX.xxxx entries for same name? (xxxx : hostname, realhostname, userName, realuserName) Is there any mail.server.serverX.xxxx entry which is not pointed by anyone? (mail.account.accountN.server=serverX => mail.server.serverX.xxxx) Can you reproduce your problem with newly created profile and by "just adding new IMAP accounts"? Note: Procedure of comment #5 successfully generates duplicated accounts always.
